General Auto Engineering
Industries was started in the year 1983 for manufacture of
field coils for dynamos. GAE supplies exclusively to M/S Lucas
TVS Ltd., meeting most of their requirements of field coils
for starters and dynamos. GAE manufactures over 15 different
kinds of coils and armatures for Lucas TVS Ltd.
 The
field coils are being manufactured with inputs from Lucas-TVS
in terms of valuable process know-how and the required technology
transfer.

: : QUALITY SYSTEMS ANALYSIS
In September 2001,
Prof Washio Emeritus,KEIO Univ.Japan. visited our factory
to study our operations and suggest quality and productivity
improvements.
 Prof
Washio is the only individual in the world to have been awarded
the Deming Award for Quality. He is the leading consultant
for most of the major automobile manufacturers of the world.
On observation of our operations in the Gemba he has advised
us on important areas like 5 S , Productivity improvements
and implementation of Stastical Process Control.
His observations
were:
"I recognised
the morale of people is high. Then your product quality
is quite good. One area to be focused will be Productivity
Improvement.By introducing proper jigs/fixtures in the process,
I think you can improve productivity. You can reach an excellent
company in terms of quality and productivity."
