Semi-Automated System To De-Gate Components
Customer Name
Yamaha
Component name
Magnet Holder
Challenge
The customer required a perfect circular magnet holder without any marks on the outer surface. The product was designed in a way that the gate point was positioned on the outer surface. Manual removal of the gate was leading to defects and rejections at the customer end.
Solution
TPI team decided not to go for a manual gate removal and instead set up a semi-automated system that precisely de-gates the components. This setup had an additional benefit of improving productivity and optimising deliveries as well.
Result
The customer received components that fit well into his assembly without any rejections.
